Classes for Agents

I offer introductory and 1 hour classes for real estate agents about how to work with differently-abled clients! I will present to your team, office, or board in person or online!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is an Accessibility Specialist Realtor?

I am an expert in serving clients and their families who have mobility and cognitive concerns; helping them to evaluate and find the right properties as buyers; and get top dollar for sellers who have put in accessibility features.

What is the benefit for me and my office in having you do a presentation or teach a class?

  • You get compelling and unique content to make your team meetings and gatherings more attractive to attend
  • Your agents get information they are probably not getting anywhere else; allowing them to serve their clients at a higher level and sell more homes
  • Your agents get an edge against the competition, who are not learning this information
  • You get another opportunity to fill your calendar with compelling content that will attract new agents; seasoned agents and recruits

Why should my Agents come to your Presentation or Class?

There is a dangerous lack of knowledge by real estate agents about how to effectively work with buyers and sellers who are differently-abled. I am able to share my experience and knowledge so agents are better equipped to serve their clients in the best possible way, and fulfill their fiduciary obligation.

What will you cover at your presentation to my office?

  1. The language of Accessible Real Estate
  2. Evaluating Property
  3. Government Benefits
  4. Best Practices

What extra things are covered in your 1 hour class?

  1. What is Accessibility?
  2. Housing Options, including renovations; supported living; and AIP
  3. Property Evaluation Considerations
  4. Client Consultations
  5. Evaluation of Property (more detailed)
  6. Detailed look at financing options, including VA Loans and non-occupant co-borrower loans; the ABLE Act; S8 Home Ownership; and various DP Assistance Models
  7. Fair Housing Law and implications for serving clients who are differently-abled

What is the format of your 1 hour class?

I present a series of slides and cover content for about 45 minutes, and allow 10-15 minutes at the end for any unanswered questions.

What do you need from me or my team for your presentation/class?

  1. Promote the event on all your communication channels to help encourage agents to attend
  2. If it is an in person event, then ideally I like to share a digital slide deck via a big screen. In that case, it would be great to have a podium with a stool from which I can manage my laptop slide deck show. Plus a technology linkage so I can project my laptop screen to a big screen for easy visibility.
  3. For online presentations and events, I typically use my own zoom room, and share a link for all viewers to access the presentation, so no special arrangements are necessary.

How much do you charge for your 1 hour class?

1. $500/hr for a 1 hour class via online video.

2. $500/hr plus travel expenses for all in-person engagements (classes;panels; presentations etc.) If it is a whole day affair, then I charge $2000/day plus travel.
